Voice Lessons

Students may enroll in voice lessons to study any style of singing – from pop and jazz to classical art songs and arias. We believe that anyone can learn how to sing if they are trained to use their instrument properly. Our vocal instruction emphasizes the development of proper vocal technique to protect the voice, improve sound production and help gain confidence for personal enjoyment and/or public performance. Students learn how to increase their range and utilize basic posture, proper breath support, and correct diction. Emphasis is also placed on stage etiquette, poise, and presence.
10-12 years old is generally the youngest age recommended to begin private voice lessons. Due to the physical nature of voice lessons (proper breathing techniques, development of the vocal chords and lung capacity), the younger body is generally not ready for the rigors of formal vocal technique. Many of our students are provided the additional opportunity to sing the National Anthem for the Charlotte Knights and the Charlotte Checkers.
All students will need to practice on a daily basis. Vocal exercises and pieces are recorded and emailed from each lesson. In order to make progress students must be committed to practicing breathing exercises, vocal exercises and repertoire on a daily basis.
